How it works

Six steps, in this order, with no way around any of them. That is deliberate: most of what makes this platform safer than a classifieds listing is a rung somebody cannot skip.

  1. 1

    Create a profile, free

You give a mobile number and we send a code to it. Verification is mandatory — not a badge you can earn later, a condition of having a profile at all. The number itself is never shown to another member. People see a member ID.

  2. 2

    A person reviews it

Every profile and every photograph is checked by a human before anyone else can see it. This takes hours rather than seconds, and it is the single largest reason a fake profile is expensive to run here.

  3. 3

Search, or let the matching do it

You can filter by community, language, education, occupation and place — real reference lists, not free text, so a filter returns everyone it should. Alongside that sit three feeds: mutual matches, your matches, and members near you.

  4. 4

    Send an interest

Shortlisting is private and tells them nothing. An interest is the first thing they see from you. Until they accept it, there is no way to message them — not a rate limit, no route at all.

  5. 5

    They accept, and chat opens

Acceptance opens a conversation between the two of you, and only then. Either side can report or block from inside it, at any point, and a block is invisible in both directions afterwards.

  6. 6

Contact details — the way each member chooses

Each member decides who can see their number: any member with a paid plan, only members they approve when asked, or no one. You never pay twice for the same number: the ones you have viewed stay available while you have a plan, and any plan brings them back.

What a match actually means

A mutual match is two-way and complete: you satisfy every preference they marked, and they satisfy every one of yours. It is the strongest claim the product makes, so it is also the shortest list — most days it is a handful of people, and that is the honest number.

“My matches” is the one-way version — people who fit most of what you asked for, regardless of what they asked for. It stays useful on the days the mutual list is empty.

What we do with your photographs

  • They are never on a public link. Every image is served through a check that the person asking is allowed to see it.
  • Blurring happens on our servers. An unblurred copy is never sent to a device that was not supposed to see it.
  • Location data is stripped from every upload, before storage.
  • Full-size images carry an invisible mark identifying who viewed them, so a leak can be traced back.
  • You choose who sees them, and the candidate always keeps that decision even when a parent manages the profile.

What it costs

Creating a profile, being verified, searching, shortlisting, sending and accepting interests, and chatting are all free. A plan is what lets you view contact details — so families can call each other — and every member decides whether theirs can be viewed that way, only on request, or not at all.

We have just started

Dilwish is new. Anyone in India can sign up and nobody is excluded — but in the first months you will find fewer profiles than on older sites, and we would rather say that than have you discover it. New profiles go live every day.

Profiles are not open yet. This page describes how it will work when they are.
